Ritualist Vengeful Farming
New Video of general Ritualist ownage:
http://files.filefront.com/vengeance.../fileinfo.html
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have been getting alot of pms regarding the location of the skills Physical Resistance and Sympathetic Visage, so here they are:-
Physical Resistance - Taltosh in Grendich Courthouse, Captain Osric in Yaks Bend
Sympathetic Visage - Mazzim in Fishermans Haven, Tengsao in Amnoon Oasis
(and of course if you have unlocked them already , from Sergio in Lions Arch)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok due to extreame lack of interest in this by my guild (yeah thanks for the support -.-) i decided to post this so that others might be able to use it to some end.
Stonereaper Video: http://files.filefront.com/Stonereap.../fileinfo.html
Vermin Video: http://files.filefront.com/vermin_fa.../fileinfo.html
Right so after Anet kindly ruined my last run with their mixed groups of am fah (shakes fist at anet) i went off in search of a new place to make my coin. After about 5 mins of looking i gave up (well i am very lazy) it was only when i was doing a quest that i found the vermin and got to wondering. My first test run yeilded a rare celestial staff which was the breaker for me, and and it seems that the vermin have the same item drop set as the "star tengu" from Nahpui Quarter.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Build
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ignore the skills used in the video :P
Ritulist/Mesmer
Vengeful was Khanhei [e]
Arcane Echo
Ancestors Visage
Sympathetic Visage
Vengeful Weapon
Physical Resistance
Channeling
Soothing Memories
Illusion Magic : 10
Inspiration Magic: 8
Restoration Magic : 12 + 1 + 3 (16)
This is what i use, the enchantment mod (yeah ok 19% so i'm cheap :P) helps with luring groups of vermin around because arcane echo lasts longer and is an obvious boon considering the amount of enchantments in this build.
Farming Vermin:
The idea is to echo Vengeful was khanhei so you can chain it 3 times in a row, however vermin have an extreamly annoying knockdown skill that interupts khanhei on a regular basis ...thats where Ancestors Visage/Sympathetic Visage comes into play. (see the video for more on how to actually use the build) cast echo on your self then agro a group, immediately cast Khanhei then ancestors visage just before the first vermin reaches you. You should now have Khanhei and Ancestors on yourself and a second vengeful ready to cast. When you see Ancestors begining to fade hit sympathetic to keep them from using Entangeling Asp on you . (NOTE they usually get one entangeling asp off at the begining of the fight but its not such a big deal as you should be just standing their and letting them kill their selfs and by the time it comes to casting your second Khanhei they should have 0 energy).
Shreader Sharptongue
When taking on Shreader Sharptongue make sure you engage him only while he is with at least 2 other groups of vermin (attacking just his group is suicide) use the usualy method until its just you and him left (he should be at about 15%-25% health by now) and make sure you have up Khanhei then basicly spam vengeful weapon at the same time to bring him down (again see video for more on this).
Craw Stonereaper
The trick to defeating craw stonereaper is using his own stupidity against him, by this i mean by the fact his normal attack range is slightly longer than his spell casting range and it seems hes to lazy to move forward by one foot just to cast a spell on you. This is good news as it means he will just attack and not use any annoying curses on you , so with this in mind wand him from agro range then take a step back (he maybe catch you with one curse to begin with but its not a big deal) . This time i find its better to NOT echo khanhei and just do this : cast khanhei and physical resistance, let him hit away at you until khanhei runs out, then use vengeful weapon and soothing memories to stay alive (and deal alot of dmg to him) untill khanhei recharges, repeate until dead.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Vermin Run
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok starting off from Senjis' Corner exit out into skyway and start heading west till you come to a small ramp leading to some steps.
Head up the steps and you should be able to see the first group of about 3-4 vermin on the right heading your way.
Once you have droped these head up the ramp they come down and go around the corner and down the steps to the next group.
Second Group
After these you have two choices, either take out the next few groups of vermin up the ramp ahead a group at a time or (this being my favourite option) wait for the group on the right to walk back down the steps then stand in between both groups and defeat them both at the same time :P.
Waiting to get in between
Next head down the ramp where the right hand group where and turn left across the bridge . This part can be a bit tricky as a Ritulist farming here as the enemies are on a set path and walk (clockwise i think) in a circle but maintain a certain distance from one another. The key to beating this part is to pull one of the groups out onto the bridge to create an opening in their patrol route that you can then slip into (see my video for more on that).
Heading into the patrol section
Once you have cleared this area out including Shreader Sharptongue - the assassin boss (which drops some nice looking green daggers named Shreaders Talons) exit out the patrol zone through the nortwest exit and into a little square with the last 3-4 groups of vermin. Now you can either rezone using the Wajjan Bazzar entrance and do the run in reverse or warp back to Senji's.
Hope that helps you ritulists out there !

I watched the video, it looks really nice! It seems to be safer/easier/(maybe even faster) than 55 monking. I just wanted to ask a few questions:
1) Can you farm other melee type monsters?
2) I assume you wearing the armor that gives u extra armor vs physical, right?
3) Around how much money you get per run (including rare items)?

Very effective build and doesn't need extra preparations (like in 55hp monk) to work. Just Sup rest rune and any armor/weapon set.
I tried it and realized that u can use it to farm any physical dmg monsters that does not heal themselves.
I farmed Stone Kirins and Undergrowths outside of Maatu Keep and it granted me nice profit. I think it could be used to farm trolls outside Droks, but it's gonna take me while to get there.

I wonder if you can farm the Yeti outside of Fort Aspenwood (Luxon). Those drop some really nice stuff. But yea, thx for sharing, I'm gonna give it a go now.
EDIT: Ok, yea, I tried it out and it works perfect. What I did is I dropped my Illusion a bit- you only need AV/SV to about 15-16s to chain it. I also added Inspiration and took Channelling, which worked wonders (aggro a big mob and then just leech on them with Vengeful Wep) and Physical Resistance (for reduced damage). I also took Mend Body and Soul instead of Spirit Light- it's a faster cast spell, heals well, and has a lower chance of interrupt. Soothing Memories might not be a bad choice either (costs you only 2 while u holding the ashes and heals for a bit more but then has the longer cast and recharge).

Ye, vermins do drop some rare skins but on the whole I found the Maatu -> Tanglewood run more profitable, but what I think I'll be doing is alternating Maatu/Senji runs. Yea, I'm Kurzick, too, amof, I need to unlock Fort Aspenwood on the Luxon side but it's easy to get there from Zos Chivros. Once I get there I will check the Yeti out, because I know they've dropped me some gold items with henchies, so... and they drop like 100g a pop, too. Not sure about self heals and all that but when there is will, there is a way.

The Dredge have monks don't they? Not sure how that will play out. Btw I was using Resilient Wep- with no nrg the Vermins can't interrupt you and RW counters their degen really nicely (and gives you a lot of armor to reduce their damage even further).
